WOMEN OF OKLAHOMA
Depiction of the tribes represented from Left to Right: Wilma Mankiller (Cherokee), Potwattomi, Cheyenne, Chickasaw, Caddo, Quapaw, Creek, Seminole, Shawnee, Eastern Shawnee, Absentee Shawnee, Otoe, Ponca, Kaw, Kialagee (Sioux), Kickapoo, Comanche family, Cherokee Nation, Arapahoe.
In the sixth panel of the World’s Longest Native American Painting, the artist Daniel Ramirez wanted to show the many tribes that ended up in the State of Oklahoma during the Trail of Tears. This relocation of many Native American Tribes challenged profoundly the cohabitation and lives of totally different people in the same geographical location.
